Device and coil setup

Make the scalp mark usable at the coil.

Record the stimulation system, coil, positioning approach, and protocol-specific orientation before treatment setup.

Device-specific setup matters. A scalp coordinate identifies a surface location; it does not by itself define coil contact, angle, current direction, or a cortical target. Confirm each against the selected coil’s current instructions and your clinic protocol.

MANUAL POSITIONING GUIDANCE

Enter the exact device and coil models. Their instructions define the coil reference point, permitted contact/tilt, angle convention, and orientation for the selected protocol.

Manual setup checks
  • Mark and confirm the intended scalp point from the selected EEG / Beam F3 method.
  • Use the coil model’s defined reference point; do not assume all coil designs share the same hotspot geometry.
  • Follow the device instructions for scalp contact, tangency, tilt, and handle orientation.
  • Stabilize the head and coil, then document the orientation convention so it can be reproduced.
